Premium Credit partnered with Denison Nunn to appoint a Programme Director to lead a critical business transformation programme focused on evolving the organisation toward a more agile, product-led operating model.
Operating within a regulated financial services environment, the mandate required a senior leader capable of balancing strategic transformation design with hands-on delivery execution, while partnering directly with the CEO and executive leadership team.
From the outset, the brief was clear: this was not a traditional enterprise governance role. The successful individual needed to combine commercial pragmatism, transformation credibility and operational delivery capability within a lean, fast-moving environment.
As Premium Credit CEO Tara Waite reflected following the search:
“We were really impressed with the quality of candidates Denison Nunn sourced so efficiently. We now have a crucial hire in Ian that will enable us to drive our group-wide transformation.”
The Challenge
The organisation required a transformation leader capable of driving large-scale organisational change across technology, operating model and delivery functions.
The successful candidate needed to:
lead enterprise-scale transformation within a regulated environment
transition the organisation toward a product-led operating model
operate credibly at CEO and Board level
build programme structure and governance from the ground up
deliver at pace within a lean and evolving environment
Finding an individual who could operate strategically while remaining highly execution-focused was central to the search.
Our Approach
Denison Nunn conducted a targeted search across transformation, product and technology leadership networks, focusing specifically on individuals with experience operating within PE-backed and high-change businesses.
Rather than prioritising purely enterprise PMO or consultancy-led profiles, the search focused on leaders who had demonstrably:
delivered complex transformation at pace
influenced executive leadership teams directly
modernised operating models within regulated businesses
balanced strategic oversight with operational delivery
The process involved close collaboration with Premium Credit’s leadership team to ensure alignment not only on technical capability, but also leadership style, pace and cultural fit.
Outcome
Denison Nunn successfully delivered Ian Jones as Programme Director, aligning both the technical and leadership requirements of the brief.
Ian brought deep transformation and operating model expertise, alongside experience leading large-scale change within commercially driven and regulated environments.
Reflecting on the process, Ian commented:
“Denison Nunn understood both my experience and Premium Credit’s transformation agenda. The process was seamless and professional.”
The engagement reinforced Denison Nunn’s capability in supporting private equity-backed and transformation-led organisations with senior technology, transformation and operational leadership hiring.
Tara Waite added: “I would recommend Denison Nunn to any PE-backed CEO looking to secure impactful senior talent.”
Perspective from Denison Nunn
For Denison Nunn Co-Founder Jack Denison, the engagement reflected a broader trend emerging across private equity-backed and regulated organisations:
“The search reflected the increasing demand we see for leaders who can combine operational delivery with genuine transformation capability, particularly within PE-backed and high change environments.”
